DISCUSSION
Climate variables, such as temperature, precipitation, and humidity, can play impor-
tant roles in vector-borne disease transmission by affecting vector and pathogen de-
velopment, and by influencing the distribution of disease hosts and habitats [11, 52].
The biologically meaningful variables that were used in the final models we developed
