The catalytic reaction was nonetheless effective with substituted enynes and allylic
acetate (Table 9.13). The heteroatom-tethered substrates were screened to generate the
corresponding products in high yields. Especially when cyclic allyl acetate was used, a
tricyclic enone was obtained in 73% yield.
9.6 Conclusion
This chapter focuses on the development of heterogeneous catalytic PKRs. Many novel
catalysts have been developed for the PKRs. Heterogeneous catalytic systems for the
PKR have now reached a significant level of maturity. In particular, the utilization of
heterobimetallic cobalt-rhodium nanoparticles as catalysts has showed enhanced activity
and widened the scope of substrates in the PKR compared to those of monometallic
nanoparticles, and has uncovered several new novel reactions. In addition, a combination
of two different metal nanoparticles, such as cobalt/palladium and cobalt/ruthenium, shows
considerable potential for future research into the development of combined catalysts, which
