Appearance
Asian melons look much the same as melons in the West, with somewhat the same vari-
ations in size and color of rind and flesh. Most varieties run 1 to 3 pounds in size, which
makes them very convenient for a home garden — although they still take up more
space than most crops.
How to Grow
Getting started. Like most melons, sweet Asian melons require unvarying warm
weather. Gardeners in cooler climates such as Connecticut need to start them indoors in
