In-Depth Information
Appearance
Fuzzy gourds are vaguely pear-shaped but without a waist. They taper top and bottom
and are either plumply oval or round. The vines are single-stemmed and should be tied
onto a pole, or in a straight line up a fence. The fruits are an attractive green with sweet
white flesh.
How to Grow
Getting started. Fuzzy gourd is a warm-weather vegetable; wait to sow until all danger
of frost has passed and the ground is warm. Like winter melon, this grows best in well-
fertilized soil.
