Almost no one grows mung beans in the home garden, but many eat them in the form of
bean sprouts. If you buy bean sprouts in the supermarket, they're probably grown from
mung beans, since these are regarded as among the finest flavored and are also the
easiest to sprout. You can easily grow your own mung beans for sprouting, and you'll
have a fine supply of an otherwise impossible-to-obtain veget able, young mung bean
pods.
