The abolition of serfdom in Russia results in many settlers coming

The Russians capture Pishpek (Bishkek) from the Khanate of Ko-
kand.

The Russians capture the towns of Turkestan, Aulie-Ata, and
Chimkent from the Khanate of Kokand.

Yaqub Beg establishes an independent state in Altishahr, based
in Kokand.
