The Uzbek Shahruh becomes the leader in Fergana and estab-
lishes a dynasty. The Fergana State is established in place of the
Hodja sovereignty. Shahruh's antecedent, Abu Rahim, founds the
city of Hokand.

The Uzbek Khan Abdullah Khan II (1560-1598) dies. The Uz-
bek Khanate splits up. The khanates of Bukhara and Khwarezm
(Hive) are established.

Baqi Muhammed, the grandson of the Khan of Astrakhan, an-
nounces himself as the Khan of Bukhara.

The sultanate of the Kazak Khan Ishim Khan.

Hive becomes the capital of the Khwarezm Khanate.

The Kalmuks, part of the Oyrat Confederation, migrate from Jun-
