to the excavation site of ancient Afrasiab Hill that was the center of the Sa-

artifacts that were unearthed are exhibited in this museum.
Sadriddin-Ayni Museum: A poet and a writer Sadreddin-Ayni also
served as president of Tajikistan. The museum is in the Registan Square.
It has been restored in accordance with the traditional architecture of its
period.

terracotta sculptures, ceramic plates with Arabic inscriptions of the early
Islamic period, tile works and glasswork.

the Tamerlane period in the 15th century. He had written five Divans in
Persian and in Chagatai Turkic. He proved the Chagatai language to be as
effective as Persian in literature and gained the respect of his times' writ-
ers. He founded a miniature school that survived until the 19th century and
his works were depicted in miniatures.
