10.21.1 Titration

10.21.2 Atomic absorption spectrometry
Chakraborty and Das [78] have described a method for preconcentrating and determining
thiosulphate in photographic waste effluents in which a stable ion associated complex is
formed between lead, thiourea, and thiosulphate in alkaline medium. This complex was
extracted into n -butyl acetate:butanol (2:1) solvent mixture prior to determination in
amounts down to 19µg L −1 by atomic absorption spectrometry.
