In-Depth Information
6.1.11 Thiosulphate
6.1.11.1 Miscellaneous
The application of this technique is discussed under multianion analysis in section
14.12.3.1.
6.1.12 Uranyl
6.1.12.1 Miscellaneous
Dolezal et al. [11] have reported on levels of uranyl ions found in surface waters.
6.1.13 Multianion analysis
6.1.13.1 Ion chromatography: chloride, fluoride, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate
and sulphate
The Environmental Protection Agency US [12] have published a standard method for the
determination of anions in surface waters.
The recommended operating conditions are listed in Table 6.2. Single operator
accuracy and precision are listed in Table 6.3.
6.2 Ground waters
6.2.1 Alkalinity
6.2.1.1 Titration method
Van Staden and Van Vleit [1] have described a simple automated titration procedure for
determining total alkalinity in ground waters. Up to 120 samples per h can be analysed
with a coefficient of variation of better than 1.4%.
6.2.2 Arsenite
6.2.2.1 Ion chromatography
The application of this technique is discussed under multianion analysis in section
6.2.9.1.
