2.71 Oxalate
2.71.1 Spectrofluorometric methods
There are few fluorometric methods for the determination of oxalate. These methods
have similar sensitivities but the most selective is that using resorcinol [361].
Oxalate has been determined by reduction of non-fluorescent Ce(IV) to fluorescent Ce
(III) [361]. Other reductor ions give the same reaction.
Bishop [236] proposed spectrofluorometric tests for the detection of oxalate.
2.71.2 Ion chromatography
The application of this technique is discussed under multianion analysis in section 12.2.4.
