Things To Buy Before You Arrive
Before we came to Cambodia, we thought we'd have to stock up and on things we wouldn't
be able to find.
Wrong. Almost everything we thought would be missing was available. Even some of the
prescriptionmedswebroughtwithuswerereadilyavailable here,mostofthematafraction
of the cost and some which didn't even require a prescription.
The only things I'd suggest buying would be brand name items you can't live without. For
example,myhusbandcan'tgetaparticularbrandofcontactlenssolution,andIhavefriends
whousespecificskincareproductsorperfumesthattheycan'tfindhere.Ialsohaveafriend
with a child who has food allergies and is unable to find anything for their restricted diets
(such as sunflower butter, instant oatmeal, and snack bars).
It's also good to have a good umbrella and shoes that fare well in waterlogged conditions,
since you'll definitely be wading through ankle deep water many times during rainy season.
