Jobs Available For Foreigners
Many foreigners come to Cambodia to teach English or volunteer as an easy way of getting
afootholdinthecountry.Thereare,however,lotsofopportunitiesonceyou'rehere,andmy
husband and I have had work dropping into our laps in our fields (writing and marketing)
without looking for them.
Themainplaceforforeignerstofindjobsisindevelopmentwork.Cambodiahasthesecond
highest number of NGOs in the world (after Rwanda), and there are often jobs for foreign-
ers with experience in relief work, economics, arbitration, advocacy, or other technical or
highly-skilled work, since few Cambodians specialise in this sector. There are also jobs for
foreigners teaching in various educational institutions as well as in computer programming,
sales, and the hospitality industry.
