Living in Cambodia is much simpler than living in the west. We have no car. No bills
(everything is paid in cash). No long commute to work.
Things happen more immediately. For example, when we first met our downstairs neigh-
bour,hesuggestedgettingtogetherforadrink.Backhome,thatwouldhavemeantconsult-
ing spouses, checking calendars, and scheduling it for a week or two later. Here, we made
a date for the same evening.
