In-Depth Information
There are opportunities in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap to dress up if you choose to, since
there are many western hotels and restaurants and events, but casual is mostly fine.
When it comes to weddings, the same rule applies - for men. Fellows can show up in nice

ous trips to the hair salon to be powdered, pampered, and adorned in floor-length sequined
gowns for the occasion. As a western woman, you'll never be able (or desire) to compete,

opportunity you get to trot out the heels and don a glittery top, and I've even known west-
ern women to have an outfit made for the occasion.
On the subject of getting things made, Cambodia offers tailors by the dozen and you will

together an outfit from scratch. Prices are low (I had a dress made for $17 plus the cost of

can take an item of clothing or show a picture in a book to have the design copied.
