Since moving to Cambodia, we've had a number of occasions to experience the healthcare
system. My husband has picked up many gastro-intestinal issues (very common in this part
of the world) as well as dengue fever, so our visits to the clinic have been multiple. I've had
neck pains and a touch of carpal tunnel syndrome, so have worked with a number of altern-
ative practitioners in Phnom Penh.
Overall, we have been well taken care of. There are several clinics for expats and tourists in
Cambodia where you'll find western doctors, as well as local practitioners who are caring
and experienced in dealing with many of the basics. They are not always advisable for ser-
ious injuries or surgeries, however, and for those you'd need to take a trip to Bangkok or
