Expat Social Clubs & Networking
There are many types of expats in Cambodia, each of which have their own social scene
(some of which overlap).
There'sthebackpacker,theNGOworkerorvolunteer,thecorporateexpat,theofficeworker,
and the retiree (and, of course, the unsavoury types who linger around the girly bars).
For every group there are a number of activities, from quiz nights to show jumping events,
happy hours and human rights' talks, cycling clubs to salsa classes. Sometimes they are not
easy to find - and it's only through meeting people, discovering them online, joining the
Cambodian Parents' Network, or reading about upcoming events - that you might unearth
them.
There are a number of free magazines listing places to go and things to do, which include
AsiaLife, LeBoost, Bayon Pearnik, The Advisor, and the Pocket Guides (Out & About in Ph-
nom Penh and Siem Reap, Drinking & Dining Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Phnom Penh
After Dark ).
