Little Italy
Little Italy is located just north of Chinatown, and shares in some of the complex history
that its neighbor has dealt with through the years. The neighborhood was once famously
known for the large numbers of Italian immigrants that called it home.
A somewhat closed-off community that essentially had its own culture, setting it apart from
the surrounding city, it was once also considered to be one of the poorest areas in Manhat-
tan.
