Despite the dangers imposed by all these hazards, both gray squirrels and reds are prolific enough to
cope with this steady attrition and assure their continued abundance. It seems likely, therefore, that this
tree-dwelling odd couple will continue to frequent our forests, just as they've been doing successfully
for so many thousands of years.
