For cosmetics, product name, colours and numbers differ
from country to country, so a shade you bought at home may
not exist in Paris, or it may exist under a different name.
If possible, bring along your old product for comparison.
Inexpensive chains and supermarkets such as Monoprix also
carry internationally known products.
FLOWERS/PLANTS
Fleuristes (florists) are found in every district and many are
open on Sunday mornings. Selections vary according to the
season. When purchasing flowers, you will be asked if they
are ' pour offrir ' (to offer as a gift): if so, the flowers will be
trimmed and wrapped. Most florists deliver and those that
advertise 'Interflora' can wire flowers abroad (toll-free tel:
08.10.35.38.77; website: http://www.interflora.fr). Aquarelle
and Monceau Fleurs are chains of well-priced shops, as is
Au Nom de la Rose, which does lovely arrangements with
roses. Food markets sell inexpensive flowers and the markets

takes over.
8 e : Place de la Madeleine. Open on Tuesdays-Sundays.
17 e : Place des Ternes. Closed on Mondays.
Truffaut at 85 quai de la Gare, 75013 is an excellent,
well-priced supermarket for plants and flowers (tel:
01.53.60.84.50). It carries plants of all types and sizes, and
offers landscaping services for your garden or balcony. Open
on Sundays, it offers home delivery.
HOME FURNISHINGS
In addition to the furniture stores listed below, the major
department stores carry large selections of home furnishings,
all in keeping with the overall style and quality of that
particular store. With all shops, however, ask about the
delivery policy—some charge extra for delivery. See Meubles
