Shopping Centres
Many of the centres commerciaux (shopping malls) have
entrances/exits linked to the métro , making shopping
convenient in inclement weather. An easy métro ride to La
Défense leads directly into Les Quatre Temps, the largest
shopping complex in France, with hundreds of clothing and
shoe shops, household stores, restaurants, services and the
hypermarché Auchan.
Lying outside the city, but easily reached by car and
public transportation, La Vallée Outlet Shopping Village is a
complex of some 100 upmarket and designer stores selling
clothing, shoes, leather goods and housewares at discount
prices (http://www.lavalleevillage.com). You can catch a
shuttle bus from the RER station Val d'Europe at Marne-la-
Vallée, or take the train to the station Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy-
Parc Disneyland.

to the Louvre. Two underground levels filled with an
assortment of upmarket shops. Open on Sundays.
1 er : Forum des Halles; 101 Porte Berger. Enormous mall,
with hundreds of shops of all sorts and levels, including a
large FNAC.
1 er : Les Trois Quartiers; 23 boulevard de la Madeleine.
Multi-level upmarket fashion mall with a perfume store,
hairdressing salon, plus many boutiques, including some
top designers.
14 e : Maine Montparnasse. Near the Tour Montparnasse,
at place du 18 juin 1940. Large mall that includes Galeries
Lafayette and C&A.
