Boules
Fun to watch or play is the classic French pétanque (commonly
called boules ), in which metal balls are thrown toward a small
spherical target. It can be played wherever there is a level
surface and is played in town squares all over France, with
onlookers commenting on every throw. To play, you need
a set of boules (balls), which are available at most sporting
goods stores. In Paris there are a dozen boulodromes (bowling
pitches), including in the Arènes de Lutèce and the Bois
de Vincennes.
Sports Clothes and Equipment
Active wear can be found in department stores and at some
