In-Depth Information
The major stadium for big musical events is the Palais
Omnisports de Paris-Bercy (http://www.bercy.fr). Another
large venue is Zénith at 211 avenue Jean-Jaurès, 75019 at La
Villette (http://www.le-zenith.com). In addition to its classical
repertoire, the Cité de la Musique puts on jazz and other
concerts depending on the seasons and festivals. And the
Olympia at 28 boulevard des Capucines is an old-time music
hall that still attracts the crowds for both retro and modern
sounds (http://ww.olympiahall.com). In fact, different styles
oberlap throughout Paris, especially for Latin and African
music, which can now be found just about everywhere.
Fortunately, resources are plentiful to learn what's current.
And since venues change and concerts get sold out quickly,
stay up-to-date by picking up at your newsstand the weekly
Pariscope, l'Officiel , or Les Inrockuptibles . Inquire at the ticket
offices of La Fnac or Virgin Megastore. And listen to Radio
Nova (101.5FM), and TSF (89.9FM). The city and tourist office
websites can be helpful, and there are several others, including
http://www.parisbouge.com, and the English-language site
http://www.parisvoice.com.
