The best seats are, of course, expensive. The box
office sells tickets two weeks prior to a performance; it is
best to go on the first day that tickets are available and
wait in line. Although the box office opens at 11:00 am,
some people arrive by 7:00 am for tickets to the most
popular performances.
DANCE
The Ballet de l'Opéra National de Paris performs primarily
at the Opéra Garnier, integrating some contemporary works
into its classical repertoire; use the same channels to get
information as you would for operas. The Bastille also hosts
international productions.
You can catch contemporary dance performances at
the Théâtre de la Ville at 2 place du Châtelet, 75001 (tel:
01.40.28.28.40), which was founded by Sarah Bernhardt.
