arrondissement . The advice of the caviste (wine merchant) is
only as good as the owner of each franchise, but most are
fairly knowledgeable. Repaire de Bacchus, another franchise,
has more than 20 shops throughout the city. Most shops will
deliver wines depending on how much is bought.
Supermarkets also have extensive selections of domestic
wines, and during the Foire aux vins (Wine Fair) in October,
the supermarkets offer an even broader selection and
knowledgeable sales personnel. Some, such as Carrefour,
bottle wines under their own label. Galeries Lafayette
Gourmet Food Hall and Le Bon Marché have interesting
selections, occasional promotional sales and opportunities
for tasting. Traiteurs, such as Fauchon and Hédiard, are often
interestingly well-stocked and helpful in their advice. See Vins
