prices, from smoked salmon to whisky, haggis, bacon
and cheeses.

teas, marmalades, biscuits, coffees, teas and cakes.
Pastries are made daily and traditional items for holidays
are also available.
16 e : The English Shop; 10 rue du Mesnil;

teas, excellent cheddars and biscuits, as well as china and
a selection of magazines in English. Less expensive than
some of the other shops.
International Offerings
International shops are sometimes clustered around rue
commerçantes —the entire area of Belleville, for example,
is international in flavour. Asian, African, Middle Eastern
and Japanese food shops are also found in the 2 e , around
rue Sainte-Anne, while the 13 e is a focal point for the
Asian community. Indian groceries can be found in the
Passage Brady in the 10 e and a smaller selection of Indian
packaged goods at the Grande Epicerie of Le Bon Marché.
Supermarkets carry some lines of international foods such
as Old El Paso, Häagen Dazs and Ben and Jerry's ice cream,
as do both the food halls already mentioned.

Two-level Japanese supermarket, selling everything you could
want, including freshly-made sushi. Closed on Mondays.
4 e : Israël; 30 rue François-Miron; tel: 01.42.72.66.23. A
wonderful bazaar-like hodgepodge, including spices from
around the world and fixings that you never thought you
would find in Paris.
8 e : Jabugo Ibérico; 11 rue Clément-Marot; tel: 01.47.20.03.13.
Interesting emporium that sells all sorts of Spanish hams.
