A CHILD'S WORLD
Getting your children set for a long stay in Paris should not
be difficult. Anything you can find at home for your child can
be found here. As in most large cities, disposable diapers,
baby bottles and pureed foods are found at supermarkets.
Inoculations required are similar to those in other countries
and there are many English-speaking pharmacists and
pediatricians. Childhood diseases in Paris are the same as
anywhere else, so be prepared for the usual colds and sore
throats, especially when children go to school. See pages

French parents expect their children to be well behaved,
and they are. The French view of childhood may not be
