INTRODUCTION
The distribution of
Ascaris suum
in pigs is cosmopolitan and remark-
ably extensive but exact estimates do not exist. Although the prevalence
and intensity vary with geographical region and production system from
intensive herds to backyard pigs, a large proportion of swine herds are
