Huncke and Corso and Marty were nonchalant, like “Ahhh, don't worry
about it. The kid will be fine!”

Dimitri sprang into rescue action with a vengeance. Then Francois showed
up with these two French girls. They had never been to the Chelsea. They were
just visiting New York. Right away, I told them, “Oh, you girls, you've got to
help me. This guy is dying!”
