SUMMARy OF THE DFI
The level of data fluency within an organization depends on the literacy of
data consumers, the ability of data authors, organizational processes that
foster effective communication, and a healthy ecosystem that supports the
production and distribution of quality data products.
Assessing your organization is a good first step to understand where you
are with respect to talent development and data fluency. An analysis of DFI
survey data can lead to self-awareness at the individual and organizational
level. You may conclude that your organization requires new hiring processes
to ensure that new team members have a facility with data. The results may
lead to new organizational processes for the use of data and the sources
of data used.
The Data Fluency Inventory is a tool to help foster a conversation about data
within your organization. The following section provides a simple scoring
approach for each of the sections of the inventory.
