You can use Component 2 of the DFI to measure the extent to which data prod-
uct authors have the skills necessary to create data products that effectively
communicate meaning. Chapter 5 discusses the important role of data product
authors within an organization and explains the importance of providing data
product authors with the tools and training necessary to improve data fluency.
The first set of survey questions in Component 2 focuses on the tools used by
data product authors in your organization. The second set assesses the context
within which data products are created and considers whether team members
are using best practices in their day-to-day data authoring. The third set of
questions is constructed to provide insight about perceptions and attitudes
related to creating data products.
