COMPONENT 1: DATA CONSuMER LITERACY
Component 1 of the DFI measures the extent to which employees have the
abilities necessary to thoughtfully consume data. It captures how data literate
your teams are and the value employees place on data fluency. Although dif-
ferent levels of data literacy may be needed by employees on different teams,
some level of basic data literacy skills are needed by nearly all employees.
The following inventory items assess the abilities of data consumers to under-
stand and use the data presented to them in everyday, work-related situations.
Beyond data literacy skills, the inventory also measures individual attitudes
toward using data.
