Don't miss
One of the most interesting aspects of a visit is to learn about the ongoing furniture and
textile conservation work on the collections. Knole hosts occasional conservation-in-action
events. The house displays rare tapestries in the Venetian Ambassador's room, a fine col-
lection of Old Masters paintings, and an internationally acclaimed furniture collection.
Leaving no doubt as to ownership of the estate, the 17 th century Thomas Sackville coat of
arms and initials (TD) appear on everything from statuary to lead drainpipes.
In addition to the stunning interiors, be sure to visit the Orangery and, if you have time,
wander some portion of Knole's 1,000 acres of deer park, gardens and forest.
