Visitors searching for a spectacular historic house to tour during a stay in London have
choices. Those lucky enough to visit the city during the annual opening of Buckingham
Palace might select the Queen's house. Others might prefer to tour the recently reopened
Kensington Palace where Princess Diana lived. Also open to visitors in the city center are
Clarence House (the late Queen Mum's home for many years), and Banqueting House —
the only remaining component of the Palace of Whitehall. All are interesting properties, but
none quite deliver the manor house experience.
