Beyond the house and gardens, the immense estate is comprised of 2,650 acres that in-
clude farmland, forest, and ancient trees. Climb the 205-step spiral staircase to the top of
King Alfred's tower — a triangular 50-meter tall folly with spectacular views across three
counties. There are guided walking and bike tours of the estate.
