In-Depth Information
Kentwell's Tudor re-creations concentrate on everyday domestic life and the relationship
between the family living in the great house and its retainers. Most importantly, the re-cre-
ations portray through living history a whole community with people of all ages and types
living in and around the great Hall.
“Live like a Tudor!” tempts the Kentwell Hall website. “We are seeking new volunteers to
take part in our Re-Creations of Tudor Life. If you have ever wanted to travel in time,
now is your chance! We are looking for over 600 people of all ages to spend one or two
weeks in the 16 th century.” Sound exciting? Perhaps. But be sure to consider the realities
of 16 th century lavatories and bathing opportunities before signing up. Not sure you want
to travel quite that far back in time? Kentwell Hall also offers living history events fo-
cused on the Victoria era, and on World War II everyday life.
Of course if you're not a living history buff, you can still enjoy a memorable visit to this
fantastic estate. In addition to touring the completely moated redbrick Tudor mansion,
gardens and working farm, this unique property offers plenty of special events.
