Blenheim's Rose Garden and Lake

Don't miss
Stretching 183 feet, Blenheim's Long Library is the longest room in any private home in
England. It was designed by Christopher Wren and contains thousands of books and an
amazing sound system — a cathedral-sized pipe organ at one end of the vast room.
A war trophy rests above the pediment of Blenheim's south portico — the 30-ton marble
bust of Louis XIV looted by Marlborough after his victory over the French. Victory is a
big theme here — witness the tall Column of Victory on the grounds of the palace.
For something less monumental, rent a rowboat and drift across a Blenheim Lake or tour
the palace's butterfly house where exotic species fly free.
