13. Tributes
It's a lucky sailor, indeed, who has not only a source of inspiration - the person who helps
you cast off your mental bowlines - but also a friend who can be counted on to come
through when the going gets tough. Being that lucky, I've penned a few sentimental lines to
show my gratitude to two special sailors. I owe them as much as I owe the friendly is-
landers and the explorers who preceded me in the Pacific. Thank you, Dad, and thank you,
Markus, for helping me forge and realize my dreams.
