fifteen knots to twenty and more forecast to come, Heike and Kay weighed their options.
Although they could have safely waited things out at anchor (other sailors report no prob-
lems in even thirty to forty knot winds), they would have been boat-bound for several
days. Not an enticing prospect with two energetic boys on board! Therefore the family de-
cided to continue on to Chesterfield Reef after three days in Huon. For the fifteen ton,
forty-three foot steel boat, that 280 mile passage would translate to three routine nights at
sea.
