danger. After anchoring for the night and then crossing Lake Gatun the next morning, we
descended the Pedro Miguel and two Miraflores locks in the same easy manner, this time
tied to a large tour boat - not a grill or TV screen in sight!
Transiting the Panama Canal has always been a highlight of any sailor's resume, but
thanks to recent developments, the process has become even easier. From watching rush-
ing water make boats “dance” in the locks, to crossing the Continental Divide through the
amazing Culebra Cut, and sharing the transit with new friends, the experience will remain
a singular one among many cruising memories.
