(2) the SynBioSS Designer; and (3) the SynBioSS Desktop Simulator. Even though the three
SynBioSS parts function independently of one another, information with regards to kinetics
and biomolecular interactions underlying the biological systems of interest may flow
bidirectionally between any two components of SynBioSS. Figure 7.6 illustrates a snapshot
of the main window of the three SynBioSS components.
The first element of SynBioSS, SynBioSS Wiki, is a database used for storing information
related to biological system components, their interplay, and the corresponding biological
information. SynBioSS Wiki is openly available at https://www.synbioss.org/wiki/ , and its
development is still in progress. Specifically, the user can use SynBioSS Wiki to store
information associated with the function of a DNA sequence, the behavior of a protein, and
the kinetic parameters and reactants/products of a biochemical reaction. It enables users to
not only add new information regarding their synthetic (or natural) systems, but also to
