campsite overlooks Isfjorden and the glaciers beyond and has a kitchen and showers. It's
about an hour's walk from town or you can rent a bicycle (per day for campers Nkr100).
You can also hire a tent (per night Nkr100), mattress (Nkr10) and sleeping bag (first/sub-
sequent nights Nkr50/20). There are no cabins, but it does issue certificates for those who
bathe naked in the fjord…

right in the heart of Longyearbyen, these two- and three-room modern apartments run by
Svalbard Snøscooterutleie are a good Longyearbyen base. There's a two-night, two-person
minimum-stay requirement.
Eating
Locals will tell you that the two best places to eat and drink are the pub and the house. But
