Circa (Approximately) and its upstairs neighbour Presis (Precisely), under the same own-
ership, complement each other. Circa, downstairs, is cavernous, both bar and light-meal
venue. It serves tasty pasta, salads and sandwiches (around Nkr115) until 5pm. Thereafter,
its cool jazz and electronic music attracts a 25- to 35-year-old crowd. There's a great range
of quality international beers (homesick Geordies will cry into their Newcastle Brown Ale
on draught). Circa puts on occasional live music plus, at weekends, a live DJ. Wednesday,
wine night, is normally packed.

Step upstairs, above Circa, to snack on
Presis' great range of Spanish and Nordic tapas. The air's calmer here, the atmosphere
more rarefied, and frequently changing artwork decorates the walls.

Upstairs and upscale, Arctandria serves filling and supremely
fresh ocean catches, including a sample starter of whale steak and seal. Save a cranny for
its crème brûlée with cloudberries dessert.

On two floors, wood- panelled and low-beamed, the Beef House is a
seriously meaty place, strictly for ardent carnivores. Just tick/check your menu card, indic-
ating size, cut and accompanying sauce, hand it to the server and sit back.
