Hurtigrutemuseet MUSEUM

mid-Jun-mid-Aug, core hr 2-4pm rest of yr) The Hurtigruten Museum portrays the his-
tory of the coastal-ferry line in text and image. Hitched to the quayside is the retired ship
M/S Finnmarken, claimed to be the world's largest museum piece, which plied the coastal
route between 1956 and 1993.

Jun-mid-Aug) Hurtigruten House is a luxurious hotel, conference and arts venue, where
rooms represent good value for your krone. Located in the same complex as the museum,

are furnished to resemble ships' cabins.
Hurtigrutens Hus Turistsenter HOTEL €€
( 76 15 29 99; s/d Nkr1075/1380) This friendly extension to the Hurtigruten complex
is over the bridge that spans the fjord and has more conventional cabins and rooms.
Isqueen RESTAURANT €€€
( 76 15 29 99; mains Nkr245-315; 6-11pm) Within the Turistcenter grounds, this
one-time whaler, forever beached, is now an excellent Arctic Menu restaurant. You can
dine within its hull, in the grafted-on restaurant with its wraparound windows, or up top on
the outdoor terrace with fine views over the sound.
Rødbrygga Pub PUB €€
(Markedsgata 6a; mains Nkr70-200; 11am-3am) Just across from the Hurtigruten
Museum, this all-wood place does good grills, seafood, pizzas at more modest prices and a
mean fish soup (Nkr80).
