( www.uka.no , in Norwegian) Trondheim's 25,000 university students stage this three-
week celebration, Norway's largest cultural festival. Every other year in October and
November, it's a continuous party with concerts, plays and other festivities based at the
round, red Studentersamfundet (Student Centre). It's next due to take the city by storm in
2011.

decorated and fundamentally renovated, with fresh beds and furniture, in 2006 following a
major fire in the adjacent building. Those on the 7th (top) floor have huge skylights giving
