Eating
Stavanger has an extensive choice of restaurants, and despite the hubbub around the har-
bour in the evening, many places lie in the streets beyond the waterfront. We're confident

Le Café Français CAFE €

widest range of pastries and other sweet goodies in town, and outdoor tables on the ped-
estrian street outside, Le Café Français is a good place to wind down. It also serves sand-
wiches, miniquiches and good salads. A lovely spot.

& dinner) One of the better places along the waterfront, this restaurant serves everything
from fish to pork ribs, with a seasonal lunch menu that's excellent value. The atmospheric
indoor dining area is ideal when the weather turns, and locals swear that the food and ser-
vice is better upstairs. When we were there, highlights on the menu included crab cakes
with sweet corn salsa and chilli mayo (Nkr125), and the bargain half-kilo of prawns with
dill mayo and lemon (Nkr125).
