Getting There & Away
Air SAS ( www.sas.no ) flies regularly to Haugesund from Bergen and Oslo, while Norwe-
gian ( www.norwegian.com ) also flies the Haugesund-Oslo route.
Boat Flaggruten ( www.flaggruten.no ) ferries between Bergen (Nkr510, 3¼ hours) and
Stavanger (Nkr310, 1¾ hours) stop in Haugesund twice daily from Sunday to Friday and
once on Saturday.
Bus Nor-Way Bussekspress buses connect Haugesund with Stavanger (Nkr240, 2¼ hours,
up to six daily), and Bergen (Nkr320, 3½ hours) almost hourly on weekdays and every
second hour on weekends.
Getting Around
Haugesund airport ( 52 85 79 00) is 13km southwest of the city. The airport bus
( www.flybussen.no/haugesund ; 1-way adult/child Nkr70/40) has services to coincide
with all SAS and Norwegian flights. For Ryanair flights, the service is operated by Kyst-
bussen ( www.kystbussen.no ) ,whichconnectswithbusservicestoBergenandStavanger.

Low-lying Karmøy island has some interesting historical sites and museums, and is circled
by quiet and pretty wooden villages.
