best whisky bar in 2008, and one of the most prestigious such places in northern Europe,
this grand old bar (which dates back to 1925) in the Grand Hotel Terminus is the perfect
place for a quite dram. It promises 508 different tastes, and the oldest whisky dates back to
1960.

By day, Café
Opera has a literary-cafe feel, with artworks and good coffee that attracts artists and stu-
dents. On the weekends, the crowd gets dancing at around midnight to funk, soul, blues
and disco (on Wednesday and Thursday), hip-hop, soul and funk (on Friday) and reggae
(on Saturday).

One of the best student bars in Bergen, this laid-back place
does retro decor and music that could be rock, but is more likely to be electronica or soft
funk. Upstairs is a fine place to keep the night moving.

Upstairs from the restaurant of the same name, Bocca draws a chic
