Getting There & Away
Air Røros has two daily DOT LT ( www.flydot.no ) flights to/from Oslo except Saturday.
Bus There are up to four daily buses to Oslo (Nkr455, six hours).
Train Røros lies on the eastern railway line between Oslo (from Nkr199, five hours, six
daily) and Trondheim (from Nkr199, 2½ hours).

OLAVSGRUVA MINE
The Olavsgruva mine ( www.rorosmuseet.no ; Kojedalen; adult/child/senior & student

Aug, shorter hr rest of yr) is 13km north of Røros. The moderately interesting exhibition
ismadeworthwhileby mine tours passingthroughthehistoricNybergetmine,whichdates
from the 1650s. The modern Olavsgruva mine beyond it was begun in 1936. The ground
can get muddy and the temperature in the mine is 5°C; bring a jacket and good footwear.
To get to the mine, use your own wheels or take a taxi (Nkr550 return). For information on
