has an intimacy you won't find elsewhere. Rooms are small, but save for a lick of paint,
they'vescarcelychangedinover300years-it'srusticinthebestsenseoftheword.Throw
in friendly service, a lovely courtyard cafe and public areas strewn with local antiques and
curiosities, and it's all perfectly integrated into the Røros experience.

a historic 17th-century building on the main pedestrian thoroughfare, the Vertshuset Røros
is another wonderful choice. The all-wood rooms are generously sized and have numerous
period touches, such as wooden beds with columns - arguably the most comfortable beds
in town.
